"The Wall"

The background of the home page is a composite of years of incidental brush strokes from the edges of George Miyasaki’s paintings.  George painted many large paintings and used a wall of his studio as an easel.  The paintings were hung on a couple of nails and George would reach the higher parts of the paintings standing on a stool or ladder.  As George would paint the sides of his canvases, some of the paint would be applied to the wall and over time this created a pattern that is beautiful in its own right.  This wall also served as part of the inspiration for his "Off The Wall" series of paintings.  Looking at a section in detail below reveals the breadth and richness of George's color palette.
